Time

Why is it that no matter how much time you have in a day to get things done, it never seems to be enough? I never seem to have enough time to get everything done. It may be because I am a chronic procrastinator. I put things off until the last minute. Of course it seems that I have plenty of time to watch television and surf the net.

My time on the internet is not all play though. I have to keep my website updated, post to my blogs, and I am getting ready to start giving live meditation, reiki and chakra advice on liveadvice.com. I will doing that under the name PeacefulMind. My advertisement has been posted for a couple of weeks but I keep putting it off until tomorrow.

Social Networking

I have been using Facebook for a few months now. I do not have alot of friends yet but I am having fun with it. I have been playing games like Mafia Wars and Vampire Wars. I am addicted. I have been able to contact some old friends that I had not talked to in about ten years. It was nice to chat with them again. I always wondered what happened to them. I have joined a few groups on topics that interest me. I always wondered why Facebook was so popular. Now I know that it is alot of fun and a great way to communicate with friends and loved ones and meet new people.

I joined Twitter more recently. I have a few followers but I am hoping to have many more. I update twitter with my most recent articles and website updates. I do not know what else to post there now. Is anyone really interested in what I ate for lunch or what I am doing right now?

Creating Lenses on Squidoo

I have just begun writing lenses on squidoo for the potential to make some extra money writing online and enhance my new freelance writing career.
I made two lenses in the last two days. The second lens is set up to make money for charity. I would love to provide more funding for worthy causes.

I have found out that it is fun to make these lens. I enjoy writing about topics that interest me. It was fun to decide what to write, how to set it up, and what to add. I was having so much fun that I forgot I could earn money. I did not even care. I just want to build many more. I think it could be addicting.

I really like that squidoo has a list of charities that they are linked with to send earnings. You can choose which charity you would like the proceeds to go to. There is also a donation module you can add to any lens so your readers can make donations to your favorite charities.

Free Information

I found a site that offers journalism classes. The site is newsu.org. It is free to sign up and several of the classes are free for members. I started two classes today and I have found the information very valuable. The classes only take a few hours to complete and could be beneficial to writers.

I think the wealth of free information on the internet is amazing. It grows everyday and I am proud to be a part of it. I hope to contribute much information and advice myself.

Craft Show

I was attending a craft show for six hours today. There were very few people and sales were slim. It is expensive to reserve a spot at craft shows now. It is especially expensive when you do not make enough money to make up for what you paid out.

I am beginning to think that selling our homemade items on the internet may be more a lucrative way to display our products. My mother makes dishcloths and doll clothes while I attempt to make jewelry. I have a lot of jewelry that I made for me to wear.

I have been checking into websites to sell my products. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know enough about ebay but I do not know much about the other sites. I have been looking at Etsy and Artfire.

Freelance Writing

I am getting ready for a freelance writing career. I have signed up for various sites to write articles and create content. I am excited to get started and I hope to become a successful writer.

I have not been involved with social media for long so I am still learning to promote myself. I enjoy learning new things and I love a challenge.

There are many sites that allow you to sign up for free and write articles. There is the potential to get paid for these articles. These articles also provide experience. If you want to write, it is important to get as much experience as possible.

Working from Home

I have been unemployed for many months now and I have decided to try working from home. There are just not enough conventional jobs out there for everyone. I am a massage therapist, energy worker, meditation instructor, tarot reader, and freelance writer. I have the skills to work out of my home. I just need the opportunities.

II have written many college term papers on allied health issues and a few online articles. I have gotten positive feedback on my articles and I am excited about writing many more.

9/5/09 Women’s Rights

Why is it in these modern times that women’s opinions still do not matter to a large percentage of men? Why is it that when I call the police because my neighbor’s music wakes me up at midnight and again at 1am ,I was in the wrong. My neighbor comes to my door, gets in my face,yells at me,  waves his hand in my face, and keeps coming closer to me until I tell him that I am calling the police. The police go and talk to him. Then they come to my house an tell me that I should be lenient about the music. They say nothing about the fact that he practically attacked me on my porch. The police tried to placate me while telling me that I did not need to call the police.

I thought that the police were suppose to serve and protect not lecture and neglect.  If I am being harrassed by my neighbor whether the neighbor is male or female, I expect to be protected. I expect the neighbor to receive a lecture instead of me. I was told to negotiate with my hostile neighbor. I guess I am suppose to ask my hostile neighbor not to attack me. It is my job to police the neighborhood. When exactly I am suppose to call the police? Should I kick my neighbor in the nuts if he get in my face or should I call the police instead.

If the law really does not protect any of us, then it is time to change.

9/2 Thought of the Day

Is anyone else tired of hearing about Michael Jackson? He died more than two months ago. I wish the news channels and the TV Guide channel would give it a rest. He had an overdose like so many other stars. These celebrities can get any kind of drug they want because they are famous. It is time to hold the doctor’s accoutable. We should let them know that giving anyone drugs just because they have money and ask for the drugs will not be tolerated.
